Web Presence in Development for Local Mexican-American Organization dotWorks Web Solutions is currently developing an interactive web site for Club Estrella, an organization founded in 1948 to promote Mexican-American culture in a social setting. The club has followed a yearly tradition of sponsoring dances and various social events that offer a rich perspective of the Latino experience. In the past few years, Club Estrella has experienced a drop in attendance, events, and annual membership. They feel that a need exists to broaden their perspective to include that of the younger Mexican-American generation. They see a strong web presence as an important step in this direction, and are confident that it will create opportunities to inform and invite the younger generation to become a part of their longstanding organization. The web presence being developed by dotWorks in collaboration with Club Estrella is geared towards attracting a younger audience while maintaining a culture which emphasizes family and tradition. Additionally, the site will give members who also own businesses an opportunity to expose these businesses to the Internet community. Robert Guel, Director of Marketing and Sales for dotWorks Web Solutions, says "We have a pretty solid customer base of Mexican-American business owners, and I plan on making them all aware of the opportunities Club Estrella has to offer. I'm hoping that they take it further and work together to build a powerful network for local businesses." The site, estrellaclub.com, is expected to launch and be available to
the public sometime late May.
